I was really getting worried; and now we are hoping the meds work well. John took valganciclovir for several months during and after the CFAR, and had no problems with it. We hope that Harvey won't have any side effects from the ganciclovir----we could all go crazy from worry, just reading the possible side effects of all the drugs. (Always the worst-case scenario.) Maybe this will be the last bump in the road---we'll pray for that.

Heavy sigh of relief from Texas. CMV is a nasty thing. Thank you for all your posts during this hard time. A story on a Transplant Caregiver? Makes me tired just thinking about it. Hang in there, both of you. (or should I say all 3 of you?)

So glad to hear that the culprit has been identified and the treatment is doing its job. Wishing Harvey continued improvement. We all appreciate your help in guiding us through this maze with your knowledge and wisdom.

Chaya:
Good news, so to speak. I assume you have experienced some psychic relief since the CMV was identified. I think your updates are most helpful to the CLL community and I hope that the process of writing down what is going on in this medical journey is therapeutic for you as well.
Here's to a smoother recovery from here on out.

Good to hear they've identified a culprit and that Harvey is doing better. Hope you both can enjoy a less eventful recovery from now on!

Those herpes viruses are so nasty and so sly. Thank goodness it appears to be something treatable. I and so many others are so happy to hear about Harvey turning the corner. Many of us has been checking the site several times a day for any good news.
Be well and stay strong
Brian
A doc with CLL and his MUD transplant scheduled for July 1 at City of Hope. Just started my blog but most of the posting won't be until late June. I am following in Dr Hamblin's choice of media (eblog) and Harvey's so generous and gritty public sharing
